SITE ENVIRONMENT: Large rural and bushland site with uninterupted views of the Brindabella Ranges and the Murrumbidgee River corridor near to Canberra's picnic and recreation reserves at the Cotter.
DISTANCE AND DIRECTION FROM CANBERRA: 15 minutes west of City.
ACCOMMODATION:
Murrumbidgee Centre - 4 buildings circa 1987 -88 persons in 20 rooms each with ensuite.
Cotter Centre - 3 buildings March 2006 - 60 persons in 15 rooms each with ensuite, plus 6 leaders in 3 rooms(all with ensuites).
ADDITIONAL: ADDITIONAL: Four family cabins each for 5 people, with ensuites and kitchens for self catering option.
PROVIDED: Mattress, pillow, heating, blankets. BYO linen.
CATERING: Fully catered. Self catering only in family cabins.
FACILITIES ON SITE: Main dining room seats 200. Auditorium seats 180, with 3 x 20 person seminar rooms attached. Murrumbidgee Hall seats 50+.Rotary Hall seats 100+ with extra rooms for leaders, kitchenette included. Murrumbidgee accommodation has lounges/ meeting rooms each seating up to 12 people. PA systems, OHP, video/DVD player, data projector all available. Cotter accommodation has 3 lounges.
OUTDOORS: Large oval, bush chapel, bushland walks, local kangaroos & birdlife, beach volleyball court, other sporting equipment. Barbeques and outdoor eating. Campfire (with permit). Outdoor puzzles.
FACILITIES OFF SITE: All the attractions of the National Capital within 30 minutes of site. Mt Stromlo observatory, Tidbinbilla tracking station and Cotter Dam reconstruction with obsevation deck nearby.Bushwalking in adjacent Murrumbidgee corridor. Horse riding in nearby properties.
