Early Warning Network (EWN) Notifications
The Australian Early Warning Network (EWN) provides emergency alerts covering everything from tsunamis through to bushfires. EWN monitors & tracks potentially dangerous weather systems & warnings. It uses its network to alert people directly in the path of an event with the potential for hail, flash flooding, damaging winds, storms & fires.
In 2010, CVA introduced members to this facility and provided it as a member benefit. CVA is still providing this service to members who want to make use of it.
If you or your organisation are members, we will register two people AT NO CHARGE. Each of these people can receive alerts by SMS & email.
However, you may feel that others in your organisation should also receive these alerts - perhaps your program director, activity staff or others who are regularly in the field. You can register extra people in groups of up to 5. Each additional 5 people will only cost $25 per year and their registration is renewed with your membership renewal annually, at the end of March.
In addition, people can be registered for multiple addresses - perhaps they have a main base, but regularly work in another location. This can easily be organised, but please note that where a person is registered for say, 2 addresses, this will count as 2 separate registrations for payment purposes.
If you would like more information regarding EWN or want to edit, add or delete registrations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (02) 4587 7155.
Please Note: If adding registrations, the information required is first name, last name, email address (unique), mobile number & address of the location where the alert is required.
