The Australian Early Warning Network (EWN) provides emergency alerts relating to natural disasters and events. This covers everything from bushfires to floods to tsunamis. The EWN monitors and tracks potentially dangerous weather systems & associated warnings, then uses its network to alert people directly in the path of an event with the potential for hail, flash flooding, damaging winds, storms, and fires.
For over ten years CVA members have had access to this early warning facility as a member benefit. Each member, whether individual or organisational, can register two people on the Network AT NO CHARGE. Registered users receive alerts by SMS and email.
You may feel that others in your organisation would also benefit from receiving the alerts. Perhaps your program director; activity staff; or others who are regularly in the field. Additional users can be registered in groups of up to five. Each additional five people will only cost $25 per year, and their registration is renewed with your membership renewal annually - at the end of March.
Please also note that users can be registered for multiple addresses. E.g. a main base and secondary work location. This is easily arrange, and counts as two separate registrations for payment purposes.
If you would like further information regarding EWN, or if you need to edit, add or delete registrations, please email CVA Manager or call (02) 4587 7155.
Please Note: If adding registrations, the information required is first name, last name, email address (unique), mobile number & address of the location where the alert is required.
