CVA is proud to partner with Abound, an employee assistance program (EAP) designed to support
CVA Members and the well-being and work-life balance of their camp-related staff.
An EAP is a confidential and professional service that provides counselling, resources, and support for personal and work-related challenges. The aim is to provide preventive and proactive interventions for the early detection, identification, and/or resolution of both work and personal problems that may adversely affect performance and wellbeing. This includes stress management, mental health support, and more. Abound is designed with Christian values in mind, ensuring that the support provided aligns with our faith and community. However, these are not driving factors in counselling sessions, should a staff member not wish them to be.
We understand that everyone can face difficulties in their lives, and we believe in providing support to CVA members and their camp-related employees during such times. Abound is a step towards ensuring that you and your staff have access to professional help when it’s needed.
In addition, providing an EAP to staff can assist with an employer’s obligations under Safe Work Australia’s psychosocial hazards that are being adopted thoughout the country.
More information of these can be found here.
Abound can be accessed via a dedicated online portal. Counselling is typically short term - between three and six sessions, though the number of sessions allocated can be changed.
Existing CVA members will have a site-specific QR code that will direct you to the Abound website. Alternatively, Abound can provide individual access links to staff upon the receipt of a list of staff
For more details on how to access these services for your site or should you require a QR code, please email Bonnie Tan.
Access to the resources in the Abound online portal are free.
If and when an employee of a CVA member organisation engages in a counselling session, then CVA will invoice the member organisation for each session undertaken.
For details on cost per session, please email Bonnie Tan.
Each CVA organisation can decide whether this service can be accessed by staff only, or expanded to staff immediate families and/or volunteers. There are multiple ways to set-up access to counselling sessions and Abound is able to work with organisation to taylor a unique solution that works best for your needs.
Please note that all interactions with the EAP are strictly confidential. No personal information will be shared with the management, CVA or anyone else without the employee’s consent.
We believe that the EAP will contribute significantly to the well-being of CVA members and, in turn, to the success of their sites.
