National Accommodation, Recreation, and
Tourism Accreditation Program (NARTA)

CVA supports the use of accreditation programs to assist members continually improve their standards: NARTA is recommended by CVA.

 

 What is NARTA?

NARTA is a process for recognition of compliance with relevant legal operational requirements. The process involves both desk and workplace assessments. The program is provided as a direct response to requests for such a framework from within the industry.

Where accreditation is mandatory for camps, NARTA meets the accreditation requirements. Ongoing, regular review is undertaken in line with changing community attitudes and legislative changes.

The organisations listed below recognise the value in ensuring and assuring the appropriateness of facilities and services to their members or students. While accreditation is not necessarily a requirement, they have endorsed, recommended, or accepted the NARTA Inc. Accreditation Program as an appropriate accreditation methodology:

  • Outdoor Recreation Industry Council of NSW Christian Venues Association
  • DEECD - Victoria
  • DECD - South Australia
  • Department of Education, Tasmania
  • National Parks and Wildlife, NSW
  • NSW Maritime Authority
  • The Salvation Army in Australia
  • The Baptist Union of Australia
  • Wesleyan Methodist Church of Australia
  • Antiochian Orthodox Church

 

There are Education Departments in states where schools make their own decisions on school camps, these do not recommend or endorse any particular providers and include:

  • NSW Department of Education;
  • Department of Education, Queensland; and
  • Department of Education, Western Australia - who do, however, acknowledge that schools would respond favourably towards those organisations that have gained NARTA accreditation.
