CVA has a number of members who are currently running internship programs. CVA supports and encourages internships and links those who are running internships with those who are looking to expand into that area, as well as providing avenues for guidance and advice.

CRU SUMMIT PROGRAM: Outdoor Ministry Traineeship

Commenced: 1990
Avg. no. of participants: 50
Usual Duration: 2 years (option to extend to 3 - 4 years)

Trainee's work towards: Cert II in Outdoor Recreation and Cert III in Outdoor Leadership, plus a Cert IV in Christian Ministry and Theology. Trainee's who stay longer work towards a Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership and have the opportunity to study towards a Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology.

CRU SCHOOLS MINISTRY ASSOCIATES: Schools Ministry Internship

Usual Duration: 2 years

Interns work towards: Preaching Training Course (Cornhill) and some theological subjects - they also get lots of ministry and discipleship experience in schools and on camps.

Interns work towards: Diploma in Christian Studies through Australian College of Ministry (ACOM). A Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership (SIS30619) is also on offer if appropriate to pathway of a particular student.

Interns work towards: Growing in faith and leadership while working and living within the Warrambui community. Interns study Theology from the Frontier School of Mission.

Usual Duration: 1 year + optional 2nd years

Interns work towards: Certificate in Christian Ministry for the first year, then Diploma of Ministry in the optional second year.

YOUTHWORKS CHRISTIAN OUTDOOR EDUCATION: Outdoor Ministry Traineeship

Trainees work towards: You will undertake a paid 18-month program designed to develop your character, conviction, and competence in Christian Outdoor Ministry. You will also receive training towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership, providing the necessary skills for this special ministry platform.

QCCC MAPLETON: CAMPFIRE Internship

Usual Duration: 2 years

Interns work towards: Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership, and some modules of the Certificate IV. Working with several prominent Aboriginal Christians the QCCC CAMPFIRE program is an attempt to resurrect the legacy of our continent's original inhabitants within the context of Outdoor Education and Recreation. The program is an inseparable combination of Aboriginal story and training in Outdoor Education and Christian Discipleship. See the Prospectus HERE

QCCC TAMBORINE: CAMPLIFE Gap Year

Commenced: 2023

Usual Duration: 1 year 

Particpants work towards: Developing skills and experiences across the broad scope of Camping Ministry while studying a 'specialised elective' in Camping Ministry written specifically for QCCC. Particpants also get to work with our local church partner to explaore and develop ministry opportunities and expereince in a variety of settings.

If particpants would like to continue for a second year, we are happy to explore possibilities to specialise in Outdoor Education (in partnership with QCCC Mapleton CampFIRE Internship or Vertec Adventure), Church-based Youth/Children's or other ministry areas (in partnership with Crosslife - a baptist church), or in a specific area of Camping Ministry e.g. Chef, Admin, Maintenance etc (as available at QCCC Mt Tamborine). CAMP WILKIN; BAPTIST CAMPING VICTORIA: BASECAMP Traineeship

Commenced: 2006
Avg. no. of participants: 4 to 8
Usual Duration: 12 months (living onsite), with the potential for a second year.

Interns work towards: a Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership, complete two of eight units towards a Diploma of Leadership (Bible College) with the ability to complete the remaining units the next year. Over the course of the year the trainees will develop a clearer picture of their God-given calling, all while working, living, studying, and having fun on our campsites.

Interns work towards: Diploma in Arts (Christian Ministry). The CYC Ministries Internship involves study in a one year Diploma with Eastern College Australia, as well as practical training and involvement with all areas of CYC Ministries Holiday Camps and Events.

SCRIPTURE UNION: WA Internship

Commenced: Early 1990's

Usual Duration: 1 year

Interns work towards: Growing in Christ-like character and competence across a range of ministry areas, as they undertake a number of short discipleship and leadership training courses. Gain expereince in camping, missions and school ministry and in completing back-office activities. They may also chose to undertake study in Youth Work, Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care or in another area alongside their 2 day/week SU internship.
